Immunizations
WE ARE A VACCINATING PRACTICE
Child Health Associates follows the vaccine guidelines recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and Center for Disease Control. Vaccines are safe and effective in preventing diseases. We require that all of our patients are immunized according to this current vaccine schedule.

Lactation Consultation
Things were going great in the hospital but now my baby is having trouble at the breast, what do I do?
Bringing a new baby home can be exciting and at times worrisome. Child Health Associates is here to help, guide and provide resources to you.
Child Health Associates offers a dedicated visit with a certified lactation counselor. During this visit, you will be able to discuss any concerns and ask all questions pertaining to breastfeeding and its challenges. Feeding can be observed as needed. Recommendations and an individual plan of care will be discussed. Follow up is also determined and available per the needs of the baby and mother unit.
Mental Health Care
Child Health Associates provides routine mental health screening at various visits based on the periodicity schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. ADHD evaluation is not performed at Child Health Associates.
Guidance and treatment of some mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety and ADHD are offered by Child Health Associates providers at the discretion of the practitioner taking into consideration what is in the best interest of the child.

Saturday Office Hours
Child Health Associates is available for sick appointments on Saturday morning. Availability varies from 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM in Troy and Novi. Please call for an appointment.
Sick Child Appointments
Child Health Associates cares for children with a vast range of illness and symptoms. Our providers have the training and experience to help manage everything from infectious diseases, to asthma, to the care of the young athlete. We diagnose and treat unusual skin rashes, acne and wart care. We participate in the care of children with heart disease, kidney disease, liver and GI diseases and cancer. We take over the care of premature infants once they leave the hospital. We help coordinate the evaluation and management of children with emotional difficulties, learning disabilities, and attention deficit disorder.
Sports Physicals
Child Health Associates offers a comprehensive sports evaluation, including accurate growth measurements, vital sign attainment, and a full head to toe evaluation. Recommended questioning and important history assessment will also be discussed.
Walk-in Quick Sick Morning Appointments
There is no need to call our office for a quick sick morning appointment. Just drive to our office and schedule the appointment with our receptionists. These first come, first served quick sick morning appointments will start at 8:00am and be available until 10am Monday through Friday.
Well Child/Physicals
We follow the guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics in providing scheduled preventive care visits. In addition to physical examinations, we perform periodic blood testing for anemia, infant blood lead, and adolescent blood lipid profiles. We perform hearing and vision testing, and if necessary pulmonary function testing. Developmental and mental health screenings are also offered.

For new patients, we require receipt of your child’s immunization record before your appointment. This can be dropped off, faxed or sent to us through our secure patient portal.
When does my child need to stop seeing a pediatrician and transition to a doctor that sees adult patients?
We are here to care for your child from the time of birth until they turn 19 years old. There are circumstances where pediatric care continues past their 19th birthday. Extending your child’s care past this age can be discussed with your child’s doctor when necessary.
