Walk-in Quick Sick Morning Appointments

Monday – Friday

There is no need to call our office for a quick sick morning appointment. Just drive to our office and schedule the appointment with our receptionists. These first come, first served quick sick morning appointments will start at 8:00am and be available until 10am Monday through Friday.

These visits are for quick sick patients only.

Quick Sick Patients: Fever>5 days, Sore Throat, Cough, Ear Pain, Rash

Call for an Appointment – Not Considered a Walk-in Visit: Headaches, behavioral problems, prolonged asthma symptoms, fever<5 days, recurrent or chronic issues

Founded in 1975, Child Health Associates, P.C. has a long history of providing evidenced based, high quality care to the children of the Detroit metropolitan area. Our practice is comprised of board certified providers with extensive experience. We focus on creating strong relationships with each family in order to provide the best advice, recommendations and treatments. We make it our mission to improve the health of each of our patients and deliver care with the highest degree of professionalism, compassion, and personal service we would expect for our own children and families. We are dedicated to the education of parents, with the goal of empowering them to be informed partners in the care of their children. I love CHA and have been coming here since 2015. I have two sons, 7 yo and 18 months. I primarily see Dr. Shafer and Dr. Lautner, but have seen all doctors at some point. Whenever my children have been sick, I've gotten a fast appointment without long wait times. All staff is extremely courteous and professional, I can honestly say within 7+ years, I've never had a complaint. One thing to note - one of the main reasons I chose this practice is because they are pro-vaccination. If you are planning on skipping or delaying vaccines, this most likely is not the practice for you.

I always have a great experience here. I drive a decent distance to get here and have been bringing my kids for 6 years. I've seen almost every doctor and they're all wonderful, especially Dr. Schafer and Dr. Koval. The doctors and all the staff are so great with my kids and I always get right in and seen as soon as we arrive. I don't think I've ever waited longer than 5 minutes. They're very communicative and the nurses usually call back within a half hour when I call for advice. They're not pushy and are open to hearing different points of view. For example, I had heard from other moms that pediatricians aren't very open to Baby Led Weaning, but when I brought it up here, they asked me to explain how it works and said it seems great and as long as I'm doing it safely, if it works for me then I should do it. I'm always very pleased when I walk out and would recommend them to anyone looking.

I’ve been taking my son here for almost 6 years. We’ve seen many different doctors there, however Dr. Koval is my go to! I love how they have open hours held for sick kids every morning! The nurses are awesome and call back quickly if you leave a message with questions. The on call doctors always respond quickly after hours too. In the past they have had less than helpful front desk staff but were not working there for long. I recommend this office to all of my friends. Very friendly during these trying times! Thanks CHA

We have seen EVERY doctor at the Troy location over the past 2 and a half years (been going here since each of our children have been born-so we’ve been there well over a dozen times for wellness visits alone) and everyone of them has been amazing. The staff is exceptional and will happily go above and beyond. The nurse line is efficient, knowledgeable and fast responding (thank goodness because I’ve had a lot of questions especially at the beginning). The doctors are all wonderful but after a year of “it doesn’t matter which doctor” when scheduling, we finally landed on Dr. Schaffer as we have 2 girls and she seemed like the best fit for us long term and we will stick with her throughout their entire childhood. She is not only knowledgeable but she’s patient, friendly and judgment free-hence all my questions lol. There’s a lot of anxiety and wonder and worry when becoming a new parent. Honestly, not much to be confident in, in the very beginning, so to find and to know you have good doctors and team for your children, is a wonderful feeling. It was a choice that I can confidently say I’m so happy I made♥️

This office came highly recommended to me when I was pregnant with my first child and looking for a pediatrician. I now have 2 children and have seen all of the doctors in the office. This place is wonderful! The doctors aren't the only superstars in this office! From the front staff to the nurses and MAs... everyone does their best to show my children that the doctors office isn't a scary place! I highly recommend this office!

We’ve been really happy with Child Health Associates of Troy. My son is almost 8 months. I have NOT experienced long wait times. The in call nurse is extremely responsive (thank you Jackie) and does not make me feel dumb about my questions. The doctors have all been friendly and took time to answer my questions although I will say that the opinions offered by doctors within the same practice are different at times. Overall very happy and would recommend.

I love this practice. I have three kids and used almost every doctor in the rotation. And never had a complaint. Our favorite is Dr Kolin, and I’ll wait to make sure we see her for the main preventative check ups but have been super happy with any doctors during normal routine care.
